Contractor FAQs: Answer the Questions Customers Actually Ask

·2 min read

Start a contractor FAQ with the questions your team actually receives. A useful answer should help someone understand the service, prepare for an estimate, or decide what information to provide next.

Collect questions and verify the answers

Review inquiry notes with customer details removed. Group repeated questions by service and ask the responsible team member to check the answer. For prices, availability, warranties, or credentials, identify what can be stated accurately and where an individual assessment is needed.

Search Console queries can suggest additional topics, but they are not a complete list of customer questions. Its performance-data explanation describes filtering and reporting limits. Compare those observations with real conversations rather than treating every impression as proof that a new FAQ is needed.

Put the answer in the right place

A service-specific question may fit naturally on the relevant service page. Questions about the overall estimate or booking process may belong together in a shared FAQ. Choose the location that makes the answer easiest for customers to find, and link to related details when they help.

Use straightforward headings and enough explanation to answer responsibly. Do not force every answer into the same word count or split one useful explanation into several thin pages. Google's people-first guidance emphasizes usefulness rather than publishing to satisfy a quota.

Keep the page current

Give each answer an owner and revisit it when the underlying service changes. Check that linked pages still explain the next step accurately. Remove outdated offers and correct details your team can no longer confirm.

Google retired FAQ rich results in May 2026. A useful FAQ can still serve customers, but schema is not a promise of related-question placement, a fixed number of rankings, or new leads. Review search observations and actual inquiries separately when assessing the page.
