Google Business Profile Services: Describe What You Actually Offer
Your Business Profile should help customers understand the work your business offers. Start with a verified service list, then compare it with the information customers can see on Google.
Review the actual offering
List the services you currently deliver and any meaningful limits. Confirm availability, credentials and terms before adding them to a description. Do not copy a sample's same-day promise or a competitor's price without checking your own offer.
A short list can be complete for a business with a narrow specialty. A larger business may need more entries. Completeness depends on what you do, not a minimum number of services.
Use the services editor
Google's services guidance explains that eligible businesses can select Edit services, choose relevant suggested services or add custom ones, and edit details such as descriptions and prices.
Use clear names customers can understand. Google warns against putting prices, phone numbers or personal information in custom service names. Put supported details in the appropriate fields instead.
Describe the scope accurately and explain important exclusions. Avoid duplicating the same offering solely to insert another keyword variation. If a price depends on an assessment, make that clear rather than publishing a rough number to fill a field.
Keep categories and products separate
A business category describes the business; individual service entries describe its offerings. Google's category guidance says not to select a category for every product or service. Review categories for accuracy rather than adding them to reach an arbitrary count.
The product editor is intended for local stores selling physical goods. Google directs businesses selling services to the services editor. Do not assume that a maintenance package belongs in Products or that product-photo options also exist on service entries.
Verify and maintain the public information
After submitting changes, check the public profile and compare it with the intended service list. Correct missing, rejected or inaccurate details through the available management tools. Review the information again when pricing, availability or scope changes.
Google says a relevant service may be highlighted when customers search. That is not a promise of an AI recommendation or a fixed processing deadline. If you check AI answers, record their wording and sources, and distinguish a correct business fact from evidence that a particular profile edit caused the result.
