Siri Readiness for Contractors: Accurate Information and a Working Contact Path

·3 min read

A customer who finds your business through a voice assistant still needs accurate service information and a reliable way to contact you. Those are concrete things to check without assuming you can control which business an assistant recommends.

Separate product announcements from observed behavior

Apple's June 2026 announcement described new Siri AI features in developer testing, with a user beta planned later in the year. It does not support a promise that every iPhone received a new contractor-selection experience in a spring software update.

When testing, record the device, software version, language, location context, question, and response. Do not generalize one answer into a universal ranking rule.

Use the right Apple Business setup

Apple Business includes tools for brands without physical locations as well as place-card management for physical business locations. Check which features apply to your business rather than creating an address that customers cannot visit.

Follow organization verification guidance and the separate location instructions. Existing-location phone verification is conditional; it is not a universal substitute for organization verification.

Review your actual name, contact details, hours, and services. Explain emergency availability only when you can provide it. Correct substantive errors across the sources you manage without treating formatting differences as proof of an AI trust penalty.

Make structured data accurate

Check that your markup describes the business and services presented to readers. Google's structured-data guidelines require accurate, relevant information and explain that valid markup does not guarantee a rich result. A Google validation result also does not test Siri's recommendation behavior.

Use properties on the appropriate objects. Schema.org documents availableChannel for a Service, with a ServiceChannel value. Do not copy it into a generic business object without checking the model.

areaServed can describe a service area using several value types, including text, a place, or a geographic shape. Represent the real coverage area; there is no documented Siri advantage in padding a list to a particular number of cities.

Answer practical customer questions

Explain what a service includes, where you operate, how customers request an estimate, and what happens after they contact you. State response times or prices only when you can substantiate them. A useful answer can explain uncertainty rather than inventing a number.

Organize the information so customers can find it. Do not promise that a particular sentence structure will be quoted by Gemini or Siri.

Check the contact path

Confirm that the published phone number reaches the intended team and that your website contact link works. Review your process for missed calls, after-hours messages, and follow-up. Choose staffing or automation based on actual volume, coverage, and service requirements.

Treat a missed call as an operational issue to investigate. Do not claim it automatically changes Siri rankings. Track identifiable inquiries, appointments, and completed work separately from observed assistant mentions.

Improve the specific problems you find and keep a record of the change. Accurate information and dependable follow-up are useful even when a voice-search recommendation cannot be attributed to one edit.
